Scheduled Duration: 2 Hours

Meeting Location: Via Marina Grande, 90 Sorrento
Our signature experience begins at the picturesque Marina Grande of Sorrento, where the colorful fishing boats and traditional buildings create a perfect backdrop for the start of our journey. From this historic harbor, we'll paddle along the dramatic coastline toward one of the most captivating archaeological and natural wonders of the region.
As we glide through the crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, our expert guides will share fascinating stories about the maritime history of Sorrento and point out interesting geological features of the limestone cliffs that have been shaped by centuries of wind and waves.
Our destination is the remarkable Punta del Capo, home to the ancient Roman villa of Pollio Felice. Built between 41-54 AD during the reign of Emperor Claudius, these impressive ruins tell the story of Roman opulence and architectural ingenuity.
The site is also known as "Bagni della Regina Giovanna" (Queen Giovanna's Baths), named after Queen Joan II of Naples who, according to local legend, used to meet her lovers in this secluded paradise. The crown jewel of this location is the heart-shaped natural pool with its mesmerizing emerald-green waters, accessible only through a narrow passage in the cliffs—a secret entrance that we'll navigate with our kayaks, giving you a truly unique perspective that most visitors never experience.
Once arrived, you'll be amazed by the harmonious blend of human artistry and natural splendor. The ruins feature impressive examples of opus reticulatum (Roman diamond-pattern brickwork), along with preserved mosaics and frescoes that have withstood the test of time. These architectural marvels now stand in beautiful contrast with the wild Mediterranean vegetation that has reclaimed parts of the villa over the centuries.
At this enchanting location, you'll have time to:
After enjoying this extraordinary site, we'll begin our relaxed journey back to Marina Grande. Paddling at a comfortable pace, you'll have another opportunity to appreciate the coastal scenery from a different angle as the changing light creates new perspectives on the cliffs and waters.
The tour concludes where it began, bringing a perfect circular closure to this unforgettable journey through time and nature—an experience that captures the very essence of what makes the Sorrentine Peninsula a world-renowned destination.
